Why choose van life?
Do you love mountains, beaches, desert-like sand dunes, and green forests? Then, you must be planning to travel after all this lockdown period of Covid-19. But, do you know how to travel safely in such a crisis? A caravan is the safest way to travel by road where you need not book a hotel or eat in a restaurant (cook your own food in it). Also, follow social distancing norms as per guidelines. Moreover, it is a cost-effective medium for you to pack your favourite dishes on board and enjoy at your destination.
Whether you’re a seasoned traveller or have never even left your hometown, road trips can be the most beautiful thing you do in a lifetime. They are adventurous, provide an opportunity to make new friends, and are a great way to explore the world. I know that I’ve made friends with people I would never have spoken to if it weren’t for the fact that we were stuck together on a long journey.
Road trips allow you to travel places that either isn’t meant for public transport or are just plain inconvenient to reach by bus or train. You can go at your own pace, stopping as often as you want, and visit places other forms of transportation don’t allow you to see.
While road trips can be fun activities for all ages, there are some precautions that should be taken before taking children on long car journeys. Road trip games should be created and brought on board to keep them entertained during the journey. It is also important to have activities that will keep them busy when they get bored of the games, such as books and art materials.
One of the major benefits of vacationing in a caravan is that you don’t need to worry about where to spend the night! Most road trips have to be meticulously planned with pit stops at which to spend the night, because, even if you want to drive the entire night, it is often not physically possible or advisable. Driving on highways rarely guarantees you a decent place at which to spend the night; there are sometimes no hotels or motels for hundreds of kilometres on more remote routes. Travelling in a caravan gives you a safe space to be comfortable in 24 x 7; and, of course, you can sleep in it!
Another benefit of RVing is that your vacation will be cheaper than staying in hotels every night. Of course, there are costs associated with maintaining your caravan and travelling by road, but many people find they save money even after all expenses are accounted for.
This is particularly true when you travel further from home and use your caravan as accommodation. There are thousands of campsites around Australia (and around the world) that offer basic facilities such as bathrooms and electricity in exchange for a small fee per person per night. Staying at these sites will cost far less than staying at a hotel.
The great thing about travelling in a caravan is that you have total control over your experience. If you want to take a trip to an unfamiliar place, you can do so without the risk of being exposed to someone else’s lifestyle. You can sanitise your environment and only interact with people when you want to. This freedom allows for a more personalised experience; the comfort of knowing exactly what will happen before it does.
Whether you’re travelling from town to town or city to city, having the freedom of a caravan provides personal safety and enables travel without having to be exposed to outside influences.
In the end, why not just go? Rent yourself a caravan and embark on the road with all of your might. Being away from home will make you appreciate it twice as much when you return. It’s time to join a community. It’s time to do something that changes your life, even if it changes it for only a few weeks at a stretch.
